Wow, our O-line can actually block! Nice improvement there.
Walter - sorry charlie, only good QBs get to be Raiders. We got to
let this guy go. I flipped out over the first fumble, then the INT
was just stupid. Granted Culpepper was fumbleruski as well, but at
least he can scramble even on a bum knee. If/when Russell is signed
Walter is the odd man out IMHO.
Whitted: you are a receiver, catch the f**king ball! McCown gave us
a chance to win, and Whitted blew it. He didn't look good against the
3rd team. CUT!!!!
Lamont Jordan put on a f**king clinic - what a stud he was last
night! Adimchinobe was impressive again, as was Rhodes. Much as I
love the huggybear character - time has come for the Fargas experiment
to end. Seems he missed every cutback lane and just plowed ahead.
Yeah he had a couple nice runs against the scrubs. But I think his
time has come to be leaving.
McCown: I still don't know what to think about this guy. Yeah he had
a couple flashes of brilliance last night, but it was against 3rd
string talent. Jury is still out.
Culpepper: If he can stop fumbling the ball every "1st play of the
day" I think he should probably be the starter. His true test will
come on Friday night against the Rams, IF he does well, and Josh
chokes, then I think the QB decision makes itself.
Run Defense was much improved I thought. Got a scare when Fabian
Washington went down hard on the sideline. But I guess he is OK.
TE: Miller and Madsen (M&M) looked great. This is the best we have
been at the position I think since Todd Christiansen. They block,
they catch, they get first down yardage. Nuff' said.
Special Teams: Not special last night, but adequate. No doubt
Seabass' job is secure. Where did they find that Fredrickson dude?
Overall I thought the game pretty much was an ugly preseason game.
You kind of need one like that in order to point out the weaknesses
and make corrections. The true test is next friday against STL. I'm
pulling for Dante.
