www.insidebayarea.comThe team, Oakland and Alameda County officials agree to drop longstanding lawsuits By Paul T. Rosynsky, STAFF WRITER OAKLAND - Raider fans won't have to buy Personal Seat Licenses anymore to get season ticket under an agreement reached between the team and Oakland and Alameda County officials, a source close to the deal said Wednesday morning. Ending what became one of the largest debacles in sports marketing, the two sides agreed to drop longstanding lawsuits against each other and to destroy the PSL concept, which was one of the main reasons the team has failed to sell out the Coliseum for a majority of home games since its return to Oakland. To award the fans who did buy the expensive licenses in 1995, the team will give them priority when choosing seats in future years, the source said. Both the Raiders and city and county officials have scheduled a 12:30 p.m. press conference to announce details of the deal, which could also include changes in who gets what revenues during home games. Those revenues could include parking, concessions and game-day ticket purchases, the source said.
