www.ibabuzz.com/By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer Tight end Brandon Myers, who caught more passes in 2012 than any Raiders tight end since Todd Christensen, signed with the New York Giants Saturday, according to USA Today. The Giants signed Myers after losing Martellus Bennett in free agency. Myers caught 79 passes for 806 yards and four touchdowns for the Raiders last season as the receiver most trusted by quarterback Carson Palmer. He was considered one of the top receiving tight ends in free agency, although some scouting services downgraded his blocking skill. Myers played nearly every snap for the Raiders last season. The other tight ends on the 2012 roster, David Ausberry and Richard Gordon, played sparingly. Myers joins Philip Wheeler (Dolphins) and Desmond Bryant (Browns) as Raiders who had productive 2012 seasons but signed with other teams. In other news, the Raiders confirmed a visit from cornerback Terence Newman, but made no announcement regarding a contract. ESPN reported the Raiders were visiting with linebacker Kevin Burnett, who played the last two season with the Miami Dolphins.
