Running back Darren McFadden and defensive tackle Richard Seymour are at practice today, which bodes well for their playing against the Kansas City Chiefs.
McFadden returned last week after missing four straight games. He played against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night but he reinjured his right ankle.
As for Seymour, this is the first time he has practiced since he suffered a hamstring injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Nov. 4. He has missed the past five games.
McFadden is moving around well and looking like a guy that is ready to play Sunday against the Chiefs.
At one point, McFadden burst through some pads on the ground and sprinted toward the unsuspecting media contingent watching practice.
McFadden waited until he was right up on the media, screamed and grabbed beat writer Jerry McDonald around the waist as he ran through the scribes.
– Middle linebacker Rolando McClain is eligible to rejoin the team now that his two-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team has ended and he has been reinstated to the 53-man roster.
However, he is not at practice today. The Raiders said in a press release that McClain isn’t “required” to be at practice today and that coach Dennis Allen will speak with McClain upon Allen’s return from Texas, where he is attending his father’s funeral.
– Strong safety Tyvon Branch is the only other player not at practice today. He suffered an ankle injury against the Broncos on Thursday night. He also is nursing a neck injury from the Cleveland Browns game.
– Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp is running practice today once again during Allen’s absence.
Once practice ends, the media are permitted locker-room access to speak with the players. However, Knapp and defensive coordinator Jason Tarver won’t speak with the media until later this week.
