www.ladowntownnews.comLos Angeles Downtown News Though Los Angeles continues to lack a professional football team, all things NFL will be discussed at a July 12 event with some high-profile guests. NFL 101/201, orchestrated by the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission, will be a five-hour fest that combines prominent speakers and the opportunity to play with the pigskin on the field of the Los Angeles Coliseum. Already signed up for the event are former St. Louis Rams star Marhsall Faulk, recently retired All Pro receiver Keyshawn Johnson and Oakland Raiders executive Amy Trask, among others. The event begins at 5 p.m. with the "Play Like a Pro" experience, where participants can compete in passing, kicking and other skills games; they can also tour the Coliseum locker rooms, check out an NFL instant replay machine or engage in additional football pursuits. A buffet dinner will be catered by Wolfgang Puck and then the panelists will talk and take questions from the audience. Individual tickets start at $350 and tables are available. Tickets and information at (213) 236-2354 or lasec.com.
