I only watched the first half, as the second half is as next to
meaningless as anything could be..
-Jrus looked ok although he still has the annoying habit of throwing
behind the receiver on all slant patterns. If I were a receiver for the
Raiders all I would do is practice catching balls behind me… thats the
only place he seems capable of placing the ball. He does FINALLY look
more comfortable throwing a screen pass though. FINALLY. That only took
three years. The inability to make defenses pay for being so aggressive
in blitzing against costs us 4 games a year easy. If the Raiders become
a good screen-play team this year, I think there is hope!
-I watched all the long runs we gave up in the first half repeatedly in
slow motion and one thing is constant… the DE’s and LB’s ALWAYS and I
mean ALWAYS seem intent on stopping the RB from going wide at all costs,
so we have everyone out wide and then they cut back inside thenbreak one
tackle and its off to the races. This is a COACHING problem, because we
did the same f**king thing EVERY TIME last year. This is very
disturbing.
-I wonder if Schilens and Murphy become elite receivers and H-Bey is a
bust, what the media will focus on? A fourth rounder and a SEVENTH
rounder being great picks, or Bey being a bust? Hmmmmm???? Any guesses
here? lol
-Fargas up the gut on second down around the goal line makes me want to
swallow a f**king bullet. If I have to watch this even ONCE during the
regular season while both Bush and McF are standing on the sidelines, I
might be buying myself a new teevee this season. This one is going to
be destroyed.
-I hope Jruss watches Garcia when he simply takes off running when he
has the entire open field in front of him. This is where I wish we had
Gannon on staff helping coach the QBs. Take what the defense gives
Jruss… this doesn’t have to be brain surgery!!
–
Let me elaborate on one play… I think it was the longest run given up
in the first half. It was a sweep to the blind side that our DE had
bottled up perfectly to the outside… but there was a hole that needed
to be filled inside of this. Thomas Howard instead of anticipating the
RB going through this gaping hole threw his body to the outside WHERE
NOBODY COULD POSSIBLE RUN IF HIS LIFE DEPENDED ON IT because our DE had
it already bottled up perfectly… and the RB simply cut back through
the gaping hole and was off to the races.
Maybe this isn’t just a coaching problem (now that I think about it)
maybe we have LB’s that are COMPLETE MORONS?? Very disturbing!
