sanfrancisco.bizjournals.comBy Eric Young When times get tough, pro teams get creative. The Oakland Raiders and Oakland A’s have united for a joint ticket promotion. For $35 fans can get one ticket to the Sept. 19 A’s game versus Cleveland and the Oct. 25 Raiders game versus the New York Jets. Normally ticket executives for the Bay Area’s pro teams operate independently of each other. But with tight economic times lingering, some teams in the Bay Area are reaching out in new ways to attract fans. This is the second time the Raiders teamed up with an Oakland team on a joint offer. Last year the Raiders and Golden State Warriors offered a similar two-for-one ticket deal. The Raiders and Warriors declined to provide sales figures. But Raiders CEO Amy Trask said that first joint venture “was tremendously well received by both Warrior and Raider fans.” The Raiders and A’s suggested they are having success with the latest venture. “We have sold hundreds of tickets and it’s growing,” said Jim Leahey, the A’s vice president of sales and marketing. “It’s a good way to tap into each respective fan base and perhaps introduce some new fans to the other sport.”
