Many of you start your day early to get to work on time. Not this kid, so when
the alarm went off at 4AM to get ready to go the airport, no amount of coffee
would suffice. Off to the airport in Seattle we go. Well at least the traffic
is almost non existant. Checking in for the flight went smoothly compared to
later events at the Oakland Airport. On the plane were several other Raider
fans representing well. This included a pyscho blonde chick who looked like
she had about 100 cups of coffee. Two hours of flight time allowed Pat and I
to catch up on sleep deprived from such an early wake-up call.
Landing in Oakland and off to the stadium, many fans who had done this before
pointed us to the Bart Air Bus. $2 later we are at the Bart bridge with my
phone buzzing from Izzy and Sac D. First stop to Sac D and Death Row. Tha
party was ragin when we arrived to a warm welcome, tasty drinks and some
quality chow via Ms. Sac D. A first class enterprise to be sure!!!
Getting closer to game time it was time to visit Pirate and Izzy where Terry
from Portland had been hanging. Cell phones were working overtime as Izzy and
I tried to hook up, describing our surroundings, unbeknownst till the end, we
were never more than 20 feet from each other the whole time. I wish I had a
video of it :-)
Game time: In we go and to our seats after a a quick stop for chow and drinks.
The seats were awesome...front row in the 200 level opposite of the Black
Hole. As for the game, I had a great time and the folks around us were great.
Unfortunately the results were not for our beloved warriors, but you pay your
money and take your chances. Anyway I'd rather see a Raider game win or lose,
than any other team in the NFL or College.
Time to get back to Seattle. After making it back through the throngs to the
Airport two things made an immidiate impact upon me. One, I cant believe how
many folks fly in for these games. There must have been fans numbering in the
1000's at the airport. Second, Oakland Airport and how it runs security is the
most f*cked up thing I've seen since idiots thought flying planes into
buildings was a good idea. The line for security check-in was so long it went
out the building into the parking lot. Thankfully we endured and landed in
Seattle where Mrs. Cutaway promtly wisked us away homeward.
For, any Raider fans who have never gone to the HOT.....its a must. I've been
to many stadiums before my two trips to the HOT this year and the Tailgating
and atmosphere of Oakland are second to none.
Thanks to all those from this NG and the countless others who make the HOT the
best!!!!!
Dave
