www.insidebayarea.comBy Jerry McDonald ALAMEDA -- The Raiders, looking behind starter Darren McFadden, took Central Florida running back Latavius Murray in the sixth round, No. 181 overall. They followed that up by picking a second tight end at No. 184, Mychal Rivera of Tennessee. The Raiders were originally scheduled to pick at No. 176, but dealt to the pick to Houston in exchange for No. 181 and a seventh-round pick, No. 233. Murray, 6-foot-2, 223 pounds, enjoyed a productive senior season with 706 yards, averaging 5.6 yards per carry and 19 touchdowns. Fifteen of those touchdowns came on the ground and four through the air Rivera, 6-foot-3 and 242 pounds, caught 36 passes for 562 yards and five touchdowns for Tennessee in 2012. A Southern California product from Valencia, Rivera originally went to Oregon before transferring to College of the Canyons junior college and eventually Tennessee. Rivera joins Nick Kasa, taken earlier in the sixth round at No. 172, and returnees David Ausberry and Richard Gordon. He played with fourth-round pick Tyler Wilson on the South team at the Senior Bowl.
