IRVING, Texas — Terrell Owens' days in Dallas are done, according to multiple media reports.
The Cowboys have decided to cut the receiver, ridding them of a big locker-room distraction but also absorbing a big hit on their salary cap. The Cowboys will take roughly a $9 million cap hit with the release of Owens.
Owens, 35, is coming off one of his least productive seasons in years, catching 69 passes for 1,052 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Cardinals sign Warner
TEMPE, Ariz. — Kurt Warner wound up right where he wanted to be, with a hefty pay raise to return to the Arizona team he led to the Super Bowl.
The 37-year-old quarterback, a two-time league MVP, agreed to terms Wednesday on a two-year, $23 million contract with the Cardinals.
The deal includes a $15 million signing bonus. Combined with a $4 million salary for the first year of the contract, $19 million is guaranteed.
Niners add Huard
SAN FRANCISCO — The 49ers signed quarterback Damon Huard shortly after being spurned by Warner.
Huard, 35, is a 12-year pro from the University of Washington who started 13 games the past two seasons with Kansas City.
Linebacker Takeo Spikes re-signed with the 49ers after getting a two-year deal reportedly worth $6 million.
Private search is on

TAMPA, Fla. — Family and friends refused to give up the search for two NFL players and a third man missing four days in the Gulf of Mexico, enlisting private boats and planes to comb the waters off the Florida coast.
The Coast Guard called off the official search Tuesday for Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper, a former Husky and Seahawk; free-agent defensive lineman Corey Smith, who played for the Detroit Lions last season; and former South Florida player William Bleakley. The friends have been missing since their boat overturned Saturday in rough seas.
About a dozen charter boats went to try to locate some signs of the men. Three private planes also flew over the area, according to Cooper's father.
Notes
• The Baltimore Ravens brought back Pro Bowl linebacker Ray Lewis, who agreed to a three-year deal worth $22 million. Baltimore also agreed to terms with veteran center Matt Birk. By keeping Lewis, the Ravens fill the void created at inside linebacker when Bart Scott signed with the New York Jets.
• Receiver Laveranues Coles, 31, agreed to a four-year contract with Cincinnati as a replacement for T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who signed with the Seahawks.
• The New Orleans Saints were busy, keeping one of their own, receiver Devery Henderson, and grabbing former Buffalo cornerback Jabari Greer. Both signed four-year deals.
• Running back LaMont Jordan became the latest former Patriot to sign with Denver and new Broncos coach Josh McDaniels, getting a two-year deal worth $2.5 million.
• Other free-agent moves: St. Louis re-signed cornerback Ron Bartell to a four-year contract, with $13.6 million guaranteed; Detroit signed defensive tackle Grady Jackson to a three-year contract and cornerback Philip Buchanon to a two-year deal; kicker Mike Nugent left the Jets for Tampa Bay, and the Jets replaced him with Jay Feely; and Houston matched an offer from Denver to restricted free-agent receiver David Anderson.
